Verdion has laid the foundation stone for Imperial Logistics’ new hazardous goods warehouse at the Niedersachsenpark industrial park in the municipality of Rieste near Osnabrück. A 12,500 sq m hazardous goods warehouse as well as 750 sq m of office space are currently being built on site.
Development of this multi-million euro project, has been financed by Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), one of Verdion’s partners for financing, development and management of logistics properties across Europe. The Niedersachsenpark asset will remain part of the portfolio managed by Verdion on behalf of the institutional investor.
Imperial Logistics specialises in hazardous substance storage. The start of operations of this built-to-suit property is scheduled for the beginning of December this year.
Stephan Dalbeck, Business and Portfolio Director for Verdion, says: “The Niedersachsenpark project our second specialist building for Imperial Logistics. Last year, we completed a hazardous goods warehouse for the chemical specialist in the Hansa-BusinessPark in Münster. In both projects, Verdion drew on its long-standing experience, for instance in the legal framework of the development of properties for hazardous substance storage, to ensure the efficient delivery of the buildings to the tenant’s specialist requirements.
“As future tenants, we were able to rely completely on Verdion’s expertise, following our good experiences with the first project in the Hansa-BusinessPark”, Michael Pohl, Director Warehousing & Distribution for Imperial Logistics, added.
Kögel & Nunne acted as general contractor, Tricer as project manager and Büro Kühling as architects in the project.
