Helios Europe Rebrands to Become ‘Verdion’

01/03/2013

Property investor and developer Helios Europe has changed its name to Verdion, reflecting a new stage in the growth of the European logistics property specialist.

Helios Europe was founded by CEO Michael Hughes in January 2010. Over the last two years, the company has pre-let over 1.2 million sq ft of Grade A logistics space in Germany alone and has built an enviable pipeline of new business across mainland Europe.

Michael Hughes, CEO of Verdion, comments: “With a lot of hard work from our team, and with thanks to our clients and funding partners, Helios Europe has become a leading force in the European logistics sector. The new name – Verdion – reflects a new stage in our company’s development and our ambition to build a €1 billion logistics portfolio within five years.”

Verdion derives from the Spanish and French word ‘verde’, which comes from the Latin ‘veride’ meaning ‘green and growing’. Michael adds: “The name also reflects our development code for sustainable, high quality buildings: sustainable for energy and environmental reasons; sustainable economically for our occupiers; and sustainable in meeting the rigorous investment quality standards of our funding partners.”

Among other projects, Verdion is currently developing up to 3,767,492 sq ft (350,000 sq m) at its Link Logistics Project in Germany. The project comprises three sites: Air Link Park, Berlin; Direct Link Park, Leipzig and Direct Link Park in Leipzig.

The company has offices in Ratingen, Vienna and London.
