In 2014, Verdion financed, designed and built the new 34,000 sq m bespoke logistics and light production facility for Siemens in Chemnitz, Eastern Germany.
The building, located on the Leipziger Strasse took just ten months to construct. This new facility allowed Siemens to consolidate its existing portfolio in Chemnitz moving more than 700 employers into this one building.
The facility is designed and constructed to a very high standard receiving a LEED Silver accreditation as a mark of quality and achievement in green building.
The multinational engineering and electronics conglomerate invested approximately €3 million into the building services at this site and took an initial 10-year lease from Verdion.
“With the help of Verdion we have built, here in Chemnitz, a world class facility which will help Siemens to stay at the top of its game in an increasingly demanding market as a full service provider of automation services.”
Siegfried Russwurm, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG
