On 27th September, Unitax Pharma Logistik GmbH, the service provider for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, hosted an opening event for its newly completed facility at Verdion’s Air Link Park in Berlin.
The 169,989 sq ft (15,792 sq m) purpose built, headquarters building has 23,000 pallet spaces, a cold storage (2-8 degrees Celsius) and a special, totally secure area for the storage of drugs.
Andre Reich of Unitax comments: “The smooth partnership and working progress between all involved meant that I didn’t have a single restless night. What we have delivered, together with Verdion, is perfect teamwork and best practice in real estate, resulting a facility that exactly meets our needs.
At Air Link Park, Unitax will offer its full portfolio of services: warehousing, contract processing, container and pallet cleaning and nationwide distribution of pharmaceutical products. And Unitax envisages growth at this site: “Our property is 2.8 acres in size and offers plenty of room for expansion,” Andre adds.
Located close to the Berlin Brandenburg Airport at Schönefeld, Air Link Park currently comprises 495,156 sq ft (46,000 sq m) of built warehouse space. The first 215,285 sq ft (20,000 sq m) was let to Dachser GmbH & Co, and leading global bio/pharmaceutical services organisation Parexel has rented 64,586 sq ft (6,000 sq m) on a long-term lease for the storage of clinical trial products. Now just 48,420 sq ft (4,500 sq m) of completed space is available. A final building of approximately 161,400 sq ft (15,000 sq m) remains to be developed at the park with construction expected to start in early 2014.
