New Materion facility breaks ground


Verdion held a ground breaking ceremony today in Alzenau, Germany for its new 108,000 sq ft (10,000 sq m) logistics facility for advanced materials company Materion.

The event was attended by representatives of the companies involved, including contractor Kögel & Nunne, as well as the mayor of the city Alzenau Dr. Leglers.

Gerald Ritter, Managing Director of Materion Germany, commented: “We are delighted about this milestone – the groundbreaking ceremony for a highly modern work. This building confirms our long-term commitment to the future of the target business at Materion against our customers, employees and the region.”

André Banschus, Executive Director of Verdion, said: “This symbolic start of works marks the beginning of an important, high-quality facility and a major investment.

Completion of the building is scheduled for December 2017.
