Verdion invests in €16 million Materion facility

Verdion, Europe’s specialist logistics and industrial investor is developing a new 136,500 sq ft (12,700 sq m) warehouse and light production facility for Materion Corporation at a site in Alzenau, close to Frankfurt, Germany.

Materion is a global leader in advanced materials and services. Headquartered near Cleveland, Ohio, USA, the company has a turnover of approximately $1.025bn and employs 2,550 people in 33 locations worldwide.

The new facility is situated in Industriegebiet Alzenau-Nord, a well-established industrial estate. Nearby occupiers include ABB, Hyundai Motorsport and Applied Materials GmbH. Materion has taken the facility, with office space, to facilitate the integration  of the target materials business it acquired from Heraeus.

The site benefits from its location just 34km east of Frankfurt, the largest financial centre in continental Europe, and next to a junction providing direct connections to the national motorway network.

André Banschus, Verdion’s Country Manager, Germany, says: “Verdion’s in-depth knowledge of the German industrial market and particular technical expertise positioned us as a strong development partner for Materion. We are pleased to be investing in this new facility and supporting the growth of this renowned and world leading technology company.

Donald G. Klimkowicz, President, Materion Advanced Materials, said:  “The development of this new facility at Alzenau is extremely important to the continued expansion and success of the Materion business in Germany.  We are pleased to partner with Verdion and look forward to the project’s successful completion.”
